ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley picked up its first win of the spring in convincing fashion thanks a 9-0 sweep of Immaculata on Tuesday afternoon.
The Flying Dutchmen (2-5) got off to a strong start with victories in all three doubles matches.
Nick Jones and
Jordan Heavel topped Immaculata's top team of Patrick Tierno and Stephen Smith 8-6, while
Joel Eisenhower and
Yale Maier teamed up to beat the Mighty Macs number two duo in John Binner and Michael Griffin by the same score.
Cody Manmiller and
Jonathan Hastings made quick work of Mark Hueber and Dom Ramsden, earning an 8-2 win in the number two matchup.
It was more of the same in singles action as Jones handled Tierno 6-2, 6-3 in the top slot and Manmiller earned a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Smith in the number three matchup. Hastings and Heavel went to a third set in the number two and four matchups, respectively, but each used a 10-5 win in the final game to keep LVC undefeated on the day. Kleckner was a 6-3, 6-0 winner in the five slot and Maier took a 6-2, 6-1 decision from Griffin the number six outing.
The Dutchmen are back in action this weekend when they travel to Ursinus on Saturday morning.
