ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley dropped a tight Commonwealth Conference match to Alvernia on Tuesday as it was edged 5-4 at home.

Alvernia led 2-1 after doubles and that proved to be the difference as they split singles behind the strength of the middle of LVC's line-up.

Sam Calabria, Jordan Shankroff, and Cody Manmiller recorded singles victories for LVC, and Calabria and Manmiller teamed up to win No. 2 doubles 8-2. Calabria won at No. 3 6-2, 6-0, Shankroff won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4, and Manmiller won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 for the Dutchmen.

Alvernia won its three singles flights in straight sets, and was victorious at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles.

LVC will visit Albright on Saturday.
