Lebanon Valley 7, Albright 2
READING, Pa. - Lebanon Valley picked up a much-needed Commonwealth Conference win with a 7-2 victory at Albright on Saturday.
The win keeps the Dutchmen (5-6, 2-2 CC) in playoff contention in fourth place, with the top four teams making the postseason field.
LVC led 2-1 after doubles thanks to 8-3 wins at Nos. 2 and 3 by
Andrew Wilson/Jon Hastings and
Sam Calabria/Christin Grove, respectively.
In singles, Calabria moved up to No. 2 and won 6-2, 6-4, with Wilson overcoming a tight first set to cruise 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3.
Jordan Shankroff blanked Claude Purcell at No. 4,
Nick Jones was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at No. 5, and Grove won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
LVC hosts Immaculata on Monday in a non-conference match.
