READING, Pa. - Alvernia men's tennis took four singles matches to come back from a 2-1 match deficit and win, 5-4, against LVC on Saturday.
The Dutchmen (7-10, 3-3 CC) will be the #4 seed in the Commonwealth Conference tournament, and will travel to defending champion Elizabethtown for the semifinals on Tuesday at a time to be announced.
LVC won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to take a 2-1 lead, but Alvernia took the top three singles flights and No. 6 to win the match. Nathan Bauer's win at No. 1 against
Ethan Grodzinski proved decisive as the Crusader took it to a third set to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.
Sam Calabria won at No. 4, 6-1, 6-0, and
Cody Manmiller at No. 5 6-4, 6-1 for LVC's singles points.
