Lebanon Valley 7, Susquehanna 2

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College men's tennis got the 2012-13 season off to a good start, upending Susquehanna 7-2 on Saturday.

The Dutchmen swept doubles handily, with Ethan Grodzinski and Ryan Weitzel winning 8-2 at No. 1, Andrew Wilson and Jordan Shankroft winning 8-6 at No. 2, and Sam Calabria and Patrick Jones coming out 8-5 victors at No. 3.

Singles went just as well, with LVC taking four points in straight sets. Grodzinski worked a 6-2, 6-3 win over Mike Hickey at No. 1, and Weitzel topped Garrett Lynn 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2. Calabria beat Ian Endresen 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4, and Shankroft won his first career singles match 6-4, 6-1 over Ryan Van Valin.

Susquehanna picked up its two points at Nos. 3 and 6, with Mats Hoaland beating Wilson 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 and Kevin Schneider defeating Jones 3-6, 6-2, 10-7 at No. 6.
