Lebanon Valley 8, Stevenson 1
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley won its 14th match of the season for the first time since 2002, shutting out Stevenson 9-0 on Thursday.
The Dutchmen (14-5) didn't drop a set in singles, after taking a 3-0 lead in doubles. Doubles was played on LVC's home courts, while singles moved down the street to Annville-Cleona High School as the women wrapped up their match with Stevenson on campus.
Ethan Grodzinski won at No. 1 over Ted Cooke, 6-4, 6-2, and
Roger Van Scyoc defeated James Bishoff 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 to lead the singles results.
Ryan Weitzel survived the closest call at No. 3, 6-2, 7-6 (5), and
Andrew Wilson was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over Nick Dunlap at No. 4.
Joel Ramos and
Sam Calabria had little trouble, with Ramos winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 and Calabria not conceding a point at No. 6.
In doubles, Grodzinski/Van Scyoc won 8-4 at No. 1, Weitzel/Ramos won 8-3 at No. 3, and Calabria/
Kyle Kahl extended their win streak to eight with an 8-2 victory at No. 3.
LVC will visit Lycoming on Saturday with a chance to wrap up a playoff berth.
