ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley won its second match in as many days, blanking Penn State Altoona 9-0 behind strong play up and down the line-up, including tiebreak wins by
Ryan Weitzel and
Andrew Wilson at Nos. 3 and 4.
The Dutchmen (8-4) stretched their win streak to four matches led by 6-1, 6-0 victories at Nos. 1 and 2 by
Ethan Grodzinski and
Roger Van Scyoc.
Weitzel fended off Kevin Bartkus at No. 3 for a 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 win, while Wilson withstood Mike Reinhardt's rally to close the match with a 6-2, 1-6, 10-8 victory.
Joel Ramos won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 over Ben Heidorn, and
Sam Calabria topped Sebastian Bonifasi 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.
In doubles, Grodzinski/Van Scyoc had no trouble at No. 1 with an 8-1 win, while Ramos/Weitzel won 8-4 at No. 2 and
Kyle Kahl/Calabria were 8-5 winners.
LVC begins Commonwealth Conference play on Saturday, hosting Arcadia starting at noon.
