ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Less than 24 hours after playing a marathon match into the night with Messiah, Lebanon Valley faced its toughest test of the year at Elizabethtown, and the Blue Jays came away with a 9-0 win.
The Jays (8-5, 4-0 CC) won every match in straight sets over the weary Dutchmen (7-8, 1-2 CC), who were playing their second of four conference road matches in four days due to weather reschedulings.
Ethan Grodzinski fell 6-2, 6-4 to Manrique Arrea at No. 1 singles, and
Tom Neckelmann lost 6-1, 6-0 to Josh Riehl at No. 2.
Brad Sweigart was defeated 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3 by Eric Fritzges, and Paul Whitman topped
Ryan Weitzel 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4. Dylan Haefner was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over
Andrew Wilson at No. 5, and Billy Freitag beat
Joel Ramos 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6.
LVC will turn around and head to Albright Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
