ANNVILLE, Pa. - Susquehanna dealt Lebanon Valley its first loss of the season with an 8-1 win in men's tennis action on Saturday.
The Crusaders (3-0) swept all three doubles points and won the top five singles flights en route to the victory.
Despite the scoreline, LVC played tough all over the ladder, pushing SU in nearly every match. LVC's lone point came at No. 6, as
Joel Ramos came back from a set down to beat Grant Uber 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.
At No. 1, Michael Hickey beat
Ethan Grodzinski 7-5, 6-4, and Richard Fitzsimmons topped
Tom Neckelmann 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2. Jeremy Neville was a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 winner over
Ryan Weitzel at No. 3, and Mats Haaland also needed a first-set tiebreak to beat
Kyle Kahl 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 at No. 4. At No. 5, Brian Osborn defeated
Andrew Wilson 6-1, 6-0.
Earlier in doubles, Grodzinski and Weitzel lost to Fitzsimmons and Haaland 8-5 at No. 1, Neckelmann and Kahl fell 8-2 at No. 2 to Neville and Hickey, and Ramos and Wilson lost 8-6 at No. 3 to Uber and Osborn.
LVC hosts Cabrini on Oct. 2.
