TOWSON, Md. - Lebanon Valley cruised to an 8-1 win Wednesday as it took a non-conference victory over Goucher.

The Dutchmen (5-4) swept doubles and won five of singles flights as they topped the Gophers (1-9).

Ethan Grodzinski eased to a win at No. 1, 6-2, 6-1, over Michael Brooks, but it was the gutsy play by Tom Neckelmann and Andrew Deckert at Nos. 2 and 3 that highlighted the match. Both needed tiebreaks to win, first as Neckelmann beat Steve Baum at No. 2, 6-3, 6-7 (8), 10-6, and then as Deckert rallied from a set down to beat Francisco Berrera 2-6, 6-3, 10-3 at No. 3.

Jon Gingrich won at No. 4, 6-3, 6-3, against Billie Weiss, and Matt Garber won at No. 6 against Brett Blackman, 6-0, 6-1. Goucher's lone point came at No. 5 as Daniel Csete beat Joel Ramos 7-5, 6-4.

The Dutchmen will head to Elizabethtown on Saturday in a rematch of the 2009 Commonwealth Conference championship match.
