ANNVILLE, Pa. - While the music and festivities of Dutchman Day took place across campus, the LVC men's tennis team was having a good day of their own, blanking Arcadia 9-0 in their Commonwealth Conference opener.
The Dutchmen (6-5, 1-0 CC) had little trouble with the Knights (2-4, 0-1 CC), sweeping doubles and taking all six singles flights, with five coming in straight sets.
Matt Grodzinski won 6-2, 6-3 over Cory Andrews at No. 1, and
Jared Zeigler added a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 2 over Kevin Langner.
Tom Neckelmann needed three to beat Bart Blankenship, but pulled out the match at No. 3 6-7, 6-2, 10-5.
Brad Sweigart won at No. 4 over Max Amiel, 6-1, 6-2, and
Jon Gingrich beat Guanying Liu 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.
Andrew Levin swept Essaq Mohtasebzadah at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0.
LVC will host a big conference match on Saturdy against Elizabethtown.
