GRANTHAM, Pa. - Messiah and Lebanon Valley battled through their Commonwealth Conference match Thursday, but the host Falcons came out on top with a dramatic 5-4 victory.

The Dutchmen (7-7, 2-2) came back to tie the match at 4-4 after being down 2-1 to the Falcons (8-6, 4-0 CC), but Luke Ruch's deciding three-set win at No. 3 singles over Tom Neckelmann was the difference.

All three of LVC's singles wins came at the bottom of the ladder as Brad Sweigart beat Mike Elliott 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 and Jon Gingrich and Andrew Levin pulled out three-set victories at Nos. 5 and 6, with Gingrich beating Andrew Wismer 6-2, 7-6, 4-7, and Levin topping Adam Sheir 6-1, 1-6, 6-4.

At No. 1, Jansen Hein beat Matt Grodzinski 6-2, 6-1, and Samuel Shorts defeated Jared Zeigler 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 2. Ruch won 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 at No. 3.
