READING, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 blanking of Albright College Wednesday afternoon.
The win gave the Dutchmen (8-7, 2-2 CC) a boost in the Commonwealth Conference standings; now alone in third place, LVC would have the third and final playoff spot if the season ended today.
LVC did not drop a set in singles play after easily winning all three doubles points. Matt Grodzinski won at No. 1, 6-4, 6-1, over David Scherler, and Tom Neckelmann beat Yoshi Otsuka, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 2. Jared Zeigler won at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0, over Kevin Gauby.
Brad Sweigart, Jon Gingrich, and Matt Hotchkiss were all 6-0, 6-0 winners.
LVC will host Arcadia University in a make-up Friday at 4 p.m.
