ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team won its first Commonwealth Conference match of the season Saturday, sweeping Lycoming College, 9-0.
The Dutchmen (7-7, 1-2 CC) did not drop a set in singles after winning all three doubles points from the Warriors (1-3, 0-2 CC).
Matt Grodzinski was an easy winner at No. 1, defeating Bobby Brown, 6-1, 6-2, and Jared Zeigler won at No. 2 single, 6-4, 6-3, over Alex Beattie.
Brad Sweigart beat Colin Baier at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0, Jon Gingrich defeated John Stutzman at No. 4, 6-2, 6-0, and Matt Hotchkiss was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over John Scarangello at No. 5. Andrew Levin blanked Jeff Morcum, 6-0, 6-0, to win the No. 6 match.
LVC is back in action Wednesday when they travel to Albright for a 3:30 match.
