LANDISVILLE, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team advanced to the Commonwealth Conference championship game as it won a dramatic 5-4 decision over Elizabethtown College Saturday at Hempfield Area Courts.
The Dutchmen (12-7), who have won seven in a row, reversed the result E-town handed it in March thanks to Matt Grodzinski's comeback win at No. 1 singles to clinch the winning point.
LVC will now face top-seeded Messiah Sunday at 12:30 p.m. for the Commonwealth Conference title.
Down 2-1 after doubles, LVC battled through singles. After losses at Nos. 2 through 4, LVC picked up a pair of wins by Jon Gingrich and Matt Hotchkiss at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, setting up a winner-take-all match at No. 1. Grodzinski prevailed to send LVC into the final.
