LANDISVILLE, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team fell in the Commonwealth Conference final Sunday, dropping a 5-0 decision to Messiah College at the Hempfield Courts.
The Dutchmen (12-8) could not recover from a 3-0 deficit after doubles as it fell to the defending champion Falcons. The match was played indoors due to inclement weather.
After being swept in doubles play, the Dutchmen were overmatched in singles action. Jason Hein beat Brad Sweigart in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 singles, and tournament MVP Jon Siemen's win over Tom Neckelmann at No. 2, 6-2, 6-1, clinched the title.
The results left matches unfinished by Matt Grodzinski, Jared Zeigler, Jon Gingrich and Matt Hotchkiss.
LVC will take on King's College Tuesday before heading to the MAC Individual Championships next weekend at King's College.
