ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College volleyball team is gearing up for a successful 2025 season, as the program will look to return to the postseason and win a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championship. This fall, the Flying Dutchmen are scheduled to compete in 26 matches, including nine at Sorrentino Gymnasium.
The Dutchmen will look to build on a strong 2024 season, in which the program finished with a 15-13 overall record and a 5-2 mark against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opponents. Lebanon Valley also appeared in the postseason for a third consecutive year, reaching the MAC Freedom Semifinal. Entering this year, LVC was selected fourth out of eight teams with 33 points in the 2025 MAC Freedom Women's Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Poll.
"Our goal every year is to be a contender for the conference title," Head Coach
Scott Reynolds said. "Even though we graduated a two-time All-American in
Taylor McInerney, we have a solid returning group and a talented recruiting class who will contribute immediately—our goal remains unchanged."
Lebanon Valley's roster includes a mix of newcomers and returners this fall, as 10 players are coming back from last year's team, while four first-years and a transfer student are joining the squad. The Dutchmen will particularly look to senior outside hitter
Mattea Penner and senior middle hitter
Margaret Cole to make an impact and serve as leaders this season. Penner is coming off a junior campaign in which she was named to the All-MAC Freedom Second Team after ranking sixth in the conference with 2.62 kills per set and eighth with 270 total kills. She ranked second on LVC with 232 digs as well. Cole was also a key contributor last season, ranking second on the team with 60 blocks and fifth with 142.5 points and 101 kills.
Additionally, junior middle blocker
Teaguen Reynolds is returning to the Flying Dutchmen after a sophomore campaign in which she led the program with 76 blocks while ranking third with 41 service aces, fourth with 189.5 points, fourth with 1.86 points per set, fourth with 104 kills, and fourth with a .241 hitting percentage. Junior setter
Sofia Okronley is another key contributor returning this year, following a 2024 season in which she led the squad with 363 assists while ranking third with 186 digs. Junior defensive specialist
Lyla Arfanella will also look to build on a sophomore campaign where she ranked fourth on the team with 160 digs and 39 service aces. Additionally, junior opposite hitter
Libby Lindau is coming off a season in which she ranked third on the team with 240 points, 2.29 points per set, 206 kills, 1.96 kills per set, and 38 blocks defensively.
Lebanon Valley will open the season against Haverford College on Friday, Aug. 29, at 3 p.m., which marks the first day of the Haverford Tournament. The next day, the Dutchmen will take on Stockton University in the morning before playing a match against Union College in the afternoon to close out the tournament.
The Flying Dutchmen will host Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. for their home opener at Sorrentino Gymnasium. Lebanon Valley is later scheduled to begin MAC Freedom competition on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m., when the squad will take on FDU-Florham in Madison, N.J.
A key matchup on the schedule for the Flying Dutchmen is a road trip to Juniata College on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m., as the team will face off against the program that has won the past three NCAA Division III Championships. This will mark the first meeting between Lebanon Valley and Juniata since the squads played in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2010.
The Dutchmen will hold Senior Day prior to their match against Stevenson University on Saturday, Nov. 1, recognizing Penner and Cole. Lebanon Valley will then close out the regular season with a conference match against Misericordia University on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. at Sorrentino Gymnasium.
