WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Lebanon Valley College Outdoor Track and Field teams ended the regular season on Thursday afternoon with a strong day at the AARTFC Championships on the campus on Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
The men's team scored 37 points to finish seventh out of 39 scoring teams while the women's squad finished 16th out of 41 scoring teams with 20 points.
LVC didn't have many student-athletes in action on Thursday but those that did compete fared well in their events. The men's 4x100 relay team of
Donovan Goundie,
Owen Linder,
Ayden Stankus, and
Colin Winters ran a school-record time of 41.34 seconds to finish fourth and score five points. The relay team beat the previous record of 41.91 seconds that was run in 2015.
Daniel Murtha scored three points for the Dutchmen with a career-best time of 14.68 seconds in the 110 hurdles to finish sixth. His time is tied for second in program history.
Autumn Garges used a strong final lap to finish seventh and score two points in the 1500 meters with a career-best time of 4:40.97. Her time is fifth in the program record books. Goundie ran a time of 49.01 seconds in the 400 meters to finish 21st. Winters scored two points in the 100 meters with a time of 10.72 seconds to finish seventh.
Abbie Reed finished 20th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.12.
Anna Sawicki finished third in the high jump with a career-best height of 1.62 meters (5'3.75") to score six points. Her height is fourth in the program record books.
Carolina Wegman finished in a tie for ninth at 1.52 meters (4'11.75").
Aonghas Evanick finished 29th in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.24 meters (145'2") on his third attempt.
The Dutchmen will now await word of the National Championship qualifiers this weekend. LVC currently has four student-athletes who are in position to qualify for the National Championships next weekend at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio depending on the rest of the results that are posted tonight.
