Dale and Yingst Earn Major Awards; Three Dutchmen Listed on Women's Ice Hockey All-MAC First Team

NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College Women's Ice Hockey team was recognized by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) after its excellent 2024-25 season, as the conference office announced in a release on Friday that the program earned two major awards, and three Dutchmen were chosen to the All-MAC Women's Ice Hockey Team. Sophomore forward Anna Dale was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year and Head Coach Matt Yingst was selected as the Coach of the Year. Dale was also honored on the All-MAC First Team, along with senior defenseman Erin Yorke and sophomore goaltender Mia Frisoni.  

Dale was selected to the All-MAC Team for the second time in her career, as she was honored on the Second Team last winter. The forward earned the Offensive Player of the Year award and was chosen to the First Team after an impressive sophomore season, in which she led the nation with 27 goals, 1.04 goals per game, and five short-handed goals. Dale also tied for third in Division III with five game-winning goals while ranking fifth with 1.54 points per game and seventh with 40 points. The sophomore led the MAC in goals, goals per game, game-winning goals, short-handed goals, and hat tricks with three. Additionally, the forward was tied for fifth in the conference with a plus/minus of 21, tied for ninth in assists with 13, and tied for 10th in assists per game with 0.50. Among Lebanon Valley players, Dale was first in goals, first in points, first in short-handed goals, first in game-winning goals, tied for first with three power-play goals, tied for second in assists, and fifth in blocks with 21. The sophomore set several program records during the campaign, including single-season points, single-season goals, single-season game-winning goals, and single-season short-handed goals. This winter, Dale also became the program's career leader in points with 51, goals with 34, game-winning goals with seven, and short-handed goals with five. Dale had several big games during the season, including when she tied the single-game program record of five points by tying a single-game record of four goals and dishing out an assist in the 6-1 victory over Neumann University on Feb. 14. The sophomore originally set her career-high for goals and tied the program record by netting four shots in the 9-0 win at Hilbert College on Jan. 4. Dale was recognized by the conference three times during the campaign, receiving the MAC Offensive Player of the Week award on Nov. 11, 2024, Jan. 6, and Feb. 17.  

Yorke earned All-MAC honors for the third time in her career, as she was listed on the Second Team for her efforts during the 2021-22 campaign and last season. The defenseman delivered a strong senior year for the Dutchmen in which she led the conference with a plus/minus of 34 while ranking seventh with 37 blocked shots, tied for ninth in assists with 13, and tied for 10th in assists per game with 0.50. On Lebanon Valley, Yorke was second in blocks, tied for second in assists, third in points with 19, tied for third in power-play goals with two, and tied for fifth in goals with six. The senior also broke the program's career record for assists, bringing her total to 35. Yorke came through with several impactful performances during the season, including six contests where she had two points. One of the senior's top games of the year was when she recorded a goal, an assist, and a career-high five blocks during LVC's 5-0 victory at Stevenson University on Feb. 22. Yorke also tallied a goal, an assist, and three blocks in the squad's 6-2 win at Hood College on Jan. 31, which set the program's single-season victories record with its 13th.  

Frisoni was chosen to the All-MAC squad for the second time in her career, after being named an Honorable Mention in the 2023-24 season. The goaltender posted a dominant sophomore campaign for the Flying Dutchmen, tying for the best save percentage in the nation with a mark of .962 while ranking tied for ninth in Division III with five shutouts and 11th with 555 saves. Frisoni also led the MAC in save percentage while ranking second in saves, second in goals allowed per game with an average of 1.29, second in shutouts with five, and third in saves per game with an average of 30.83. On the team, the sophomore was first in saves, first in shutouts, and tied for first in wins with eight. Additionally, Frisoni set the single-season program record for shutouts and tied the single-season record for wins. The goaltender had several impressive outings during the winter, including her season-high 51-save effort when she passed the 1,000 career saves mark at Wilkes University on Feb. 9. Frisoni also made 49 saves and posted a shutout in Lebanon Valley's 1-0 victory over Wilkes on Nov. 16, 2024. The MAC honored the sophomore three times during the winter for this production, earning the MAC Defensive Player of the Week award on Nov. 18, 2024, Jan. 27, and Feb. 24.  

Yingst was named the MAC Coach of the Year for the second time in his career, as he also received the honor in the 2020-21 campaign. Yingst earned the award this year after guiding the Dutchmen to a program-record 17-8-1 overall record with a 14-6-1 conference mark, providing the team with its first winning season in program history. The coach led LVC to the inaugural MAC Women's Ice Hockey Tournament as the third seed, after being picked fourth in the conference's preseason poll. The Dutchmen set single-season program records with 17 wins, 195 points, 82 goals, seven short-handed goals, 113 assists, 846 shots on goal, and nine shutouts on the defensive end. When Lebanon Valley concluded the season, the program was first in the nation in short-handed goals while ranking tied for eighth in shutouts, tied for ninth in scoring defense with 1.19 goals allowed per game, and 14th in penalty-killing percentage with a mark of .935. In the MAC, Yingst led the team to ranking first in penalty-killing percentage, first in team defense with just 31 goals allowed, second with a .574 faceoff win percentage, third in goals, third in assists, and third in blocked shots with 297.
