READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Indoor Track and Field teams got off to a strong start at the 2025 Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Alvernia University's Flynn PLEX. The men are first with 44 points while the women are second with 33 points.
Widener University is second on the men's side with 36 points and leads the women's side with 42 points. Misericordia University is third in the men's standings with 31 points while King's College is third in the women's standings with 29.5 points.
Track Events
Ava Matter just missed qualifying for Saturday's final in the women's 60 meters with a time of 8.16 seconds. The first-year was third in the second of three heats and ninth overall.
Karina Reilly was 13th with a career-best time of 8.34 seconds.
Colin Winters had the third-fastest qualifying time and won the third heat of the men's 60 with a school record time of 6.91 seconds. He beat his previous record of 6.93 seconds and will race in the final on Saturday.
Hayden Milchanowski was 23rd with a time of 7.32 seconds.
Joe Chukoskie jumped in front of the pack 50 meters in and led the whole way to win the men's 5000 meters by nine seconds in 14:59.43. The junior scored 10 points for the Dutchmen and gave LVC its first event win of the meet.
Lukas Walko was sixth to score three points in 15:29.07.
Dylan Lenhart ran a time of 15:41.87 to finish 12th.
Cole Lehman crossed the line in 16:43.66 to finish 25th.
Coyla Bartholomew ran a smart race and finished fourth in the women's 5000 meters with a time of 18:17.57 to score five points.
Charlee Kurtz as 12th with a career-best time of 19:40.08 and
Caroline Borleis finished 22nd with a career-best time of 20:24.29
Daniel Murtha won the first heat of the 60-meter hurdles to qualify for Saturday finals in 8.39 seconds. He had the fourth-fastest time in the field.
Joshua Leidich just missed qualifying with a ninth-place finish in a career-best 8.73 seconds.
Avrey Grimm finished 19th in a career-best 9.22 seconds.
Anna Sawicki qualified for the women's final with a career-best time of 9.51 seconds which was sixth in the field. She finished third in the third heat and moved up to fifth in the program record books.
Mikayla Mitchell finished 12th with a time of 9.77 seconds while
Emma Bunty was 15th in a career-best 9.99 seconds.
The women's 4x200 relay team of Matter,
Darrian Berkheimer, Reilly, and
Mileyska Calderon scored six points with a third-place finish in 1:47.74. The men's team of
Donovan Goundie, Murtha,
Matt Bruchak, and Grimm ran a season-best time of 1:33.28 to finish seventh and score two points. The women's distance medley relay team of
Abigail Hunt,
Emily Miller,
Sierra Kapcsos, and
Kyrianna Nemitz also finished third to score six points with a time of 12:36.49. That time is eighth on the program Top 10 list The men's squad of
Eric Shelton, Bruchak,
Alec Di Cesare, and
Rory Lieberman earned a big eight points with a second-place finish in 10:20.25. Their time is fourth in the program record books.
Field Events
Sawicki finished second in the women's high jump at a career-best height of 1.61 meters (5'3.25") to score eight points. Her height moves her up to fourth in the record books.
Melena Koutch was fifth to score four points at 1.58 meters (5'2.25").
Carolina Wegman gave LVC a third podium finisher with a height of 1.52 meters (4'11.75") to finish eighth and score one point.
Emily Oriel finished 10th at 1.47 meters (4'9.75") and
Haley Thunberg was 13th with a career-best height of 1.42 meters (4'7.75").
Ayden Stankus was a repeat MAC Champion in the men's pole vault at 4.65 meters (15'3") to score 10 points. The senior needed to clear the height on his last attempt to win or he would finish second and came up big to claim his second consecutive indoor title.
Grant Smith also finished on the podium in eighth place to score one point with a height of 3.95 meters (12'11.5").
Stankus also had a big mark in the long jump as the two events were going on at the same time. Stankus qualified for the final with his first jump and then competed in the pole vault. After the pole vault was done, he came back for the finals and after two fouls, he had a huge AARTFC qualifying and career-best mark of 6.67 meters (21'10.75") on his final attempt to finish fourth and score five points. His mark is sixth on the program's Top 10 list.
Alex Brown finish 19th in the event with a mark of 6.09 meters (19'11.75") on his second jump.
Tola Oyinkolade finished 10th in the women's long jump with a mark of 4.86 meters (15'8.25") on her first attempt.
Hailey Myers was 13th with a jump of 4.78 meters (15'8.25") on her third attempt.
Aonghas Evanick finished fourth in the men's weight throw to score five points with a career-best toss of 15.36 meters (50'4.75") on his fourth toss. His mark is fifth in the record books.
Nick Guerieri was 13th with a mark of 14.15 meters (46'5.25") on his third attempt.
Lauren Assante was sixth in the women's weight throw with a throw of 14.57 meters (47'9.75") on her fifth toss.
Multi
Graison Michajluk sits fourth in the heptathlon after four events with a score of 2544 points. He started the day with a career-best time of 7.64 seconds in the 60 meters for 668 points. He then had a career-best mark of 5.83 meters (19'1.50") in the long jump for 550 points. Michajluk threw the shot put 12.54 meters (41'1.75") for 639 points before finishing up with a height of 1.87 meters (6'1.5") in the high jump for 687 points.
Ethan Rush is 13th with 1739 points. He began with a career-best time of 7.96 seconds in 60 meters for 571 points. Rush then jumped a career-best 5.28 meters (17'4") in the long jump for 437 points. He threw the shot put a career-best 8.22 meters (26'11.75") for 379 points and finished with a height of 1.45 meters (4'9") in the high jump for 352 points.
The championships will conclude on Saturday starting at 9:45 a.m. at Alvernia's Flynn PLEX in Reading.
