ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's swimming team earned the program's first dual victory of the year on Saturday afternoon as the Dutchmen defeated visiting FDU-Florham 76-71 inside the Arnold Sports Center. The women's team dropped a 151-44 decision to the Devils in the final meet of the semester.
The meet, which was also LVC's last home dual of the season, was a closely contested affair on the men's side that was not decided until the final relay, where the Dutchmen had two teams competing while the Devils did not field a team. LVC finished the first semester with a 1-3 mark, including a 1-1 record against Middle Atlantic Conference teams. The women's squad is also 1-3 with a 1-1 mark against conference competition. The Dutchmen will host an intrasquad meet in the second semester where they will honor the team's seniors.
Inside the Results
- The women's 200-meter medley relay squad of Natalie Bourne, Marina Weidman, Colbey Brown, and Jana Shoffner finished second in 2:24.55. The men's squad of Jeffrey LaRuffa, Caleb Sikalis, Edward McClain, and Graham Peperak also finished second with a time of 2:56.95.
- Ryan Kuffa was the only men's swimmer in the 800-meter freestyle and touched the wall in 10:02.18.
- Grace Strong finished third in the women's 200-meter freestyle with a career-best time of 2:43.58.
- Jana Shoffner was third in the women's 50-meter freestyle with a time of 32.44 seconds. Roman Schelhorn finished second in the men's race with a career-best time of 27.87 seconds. Ryan Moreno was third at a season-best 28.52 seconds.
- Owen Fastrich finished second in the men's 200-meter IM, swimming a career-best time of 2:34.57
- Brown finished second in the women's 100-meter butterfly with a career-best time of 1:20.19. Her time qualified her for the MAC Championships in the event.
- Weidman finished second in the women's 100-meter freestyle with a career-best time of 1:05.37. She qualified for the MAC Championships in her first time swimming the event this season.
- The Dutchmen had the top three swimmers in the men's 100-meter freestyle. Kuffa won in a career-best 57.82 seconds. Schelhorn was second in a career-best 1:04.46, and Moreno finished third in a season-best 1:05.11.
- McClain finished second in the men's 100-meter backstroke with a big career-best time of 1:33.85. LaRuffa was third in a season-best 2:09.70.
- Noryan Mitchell was third in the women's 400-meter freestyle with a career-best time of 5:58.17. Fastrich was the only men's swimmer in the event and touched the wall in 4:50.90.
- Weidman swam a time of 1:25.84 in the women's 100-meter breaststroke to finish third. Sikalis was third in the men's heat with a time of 1:31.78.
- The women's 200-meter freestyle relay team of Shoffner, Bourne, Mitchell, and Weidman finished second in a season-best time of 2:06.18.
- The men's team of Schelhorn, Moreno, Fastrich, and Kuffa swam a time of 1:56.51 while the group of Sikalis, Peperak, LaRuffa, and McClain were second in 2:41.66.
Up Next
LVC will be off for the holidays and semester break. They will begin the second semester of action on Jan. 10, 2026, with a tri-meet at Wilkes University. The Dutchmen will also take on the University of Scranton at 1 p.m. at the Catholic Youth Center Pool in Wilkes-Barre.
