Women’s Cross Country Records Best-Ever Regional Finish

11/15/2025 6:42:00 PM

NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's cross country team posted its best finish at Regionals in program history as the Dutchmen finished third out of 35 teams on Saturday at the Mid-Atlantic Region Championship hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School in Newville.

"This was truly a special day for our ladies," Head Coach James O'Brien stated. "Our previous best finish was sixth place in 2021 and 2023. It is really a testament to our seniors for their consistent drive and determination, along with all of our underclassmen who have filled our depth. A special shoutout to Coyla, who started the season strong, hit a bit of a mid-season lull, but pulled out the best race of her career today. We believe it will be enough to individually qualify for nationals."

The Dutchmen had three All-Region honorees for finishing in the top 35 and just missed out on a fourth. Coyla Bartholomew finished 14th, Autumn Garges was 33rd, and Lila Shore was right behind her in 34th. Kyrianna Nemitz finished 36th as LVC's fourth runner. Charlee Kurtz was 47th, Kaylee Senglar was 50th, and Abigail Hunt crossed the line in 66th out of 208 finishers. LVC scored 160 points to finish behind regional powers Johns Hopkins University and Carnegie Mellon University. Misericordia University was fourth with 170 points, while Gettysburg College rounded out the top five teams with 187 points. JHU won the team title with 42 points. CMU was second with 64 points and had the Individual Champion in Chloe Bonson, who finished the 6,000-meter course in 21:24.5.

Bartholomew has a chance at being an individual qualifier for nationals when the field is announced tomorrow, after running a time of 22:17.9. She would be one of the individual qualifiers for nationals if Carnegie Mellon is chosen as a team qualifier. The senior earned All-Region honors for the third consecutive year. Garges was an All-Region finisher with a time of 22:54.3. Shore ran a season-best time of 22:54.9 to finish her rookie season with All-Region honors.

Nemitz just missed All-Region by one spot with a time of 23:00.6. Kurtz ran a career-best time of 23:30.6. Senglar finished in 23:38.8, and Hunt rounded out the Dutchmen in 24:17.1. LVC had an average time of 22:55 and a spread of 1:12 among the top five runners.

LVC will await tomorrow's NCAA Qualifiers Announcement to find out if Bartholomew will be running next Saturday at the NCAA Championship in Spartanburg, S.C.
