NEWTOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley women's cross country standout
Coyla Bartholomew added another prestigious award to her resume as the runner was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Senior Scholar-Athlete in a release by the conference office on Wednesday.
Bartholomew, an Exercise Science major, finished off an outstanding career as an Individual Qualifier for the NCAA Division III National Championships in November after finishing 14th at the Mid-Atlantic Region Championships. The 2022 MAC Rookie of the Year earned All-MAC honors all four years, with two First Team honors and two Second Team honors. She earned All-Region honors three times in her career and helped lead the Dutchmen to the program's first-ever MAC Championship this fall and the team's best finish at a Regional Championship.
The two-year team captain is an excellent student, having earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honors as a sophomore and junior. She is a three-time Academic All-MAC selection and earned a spot on the MAC Academic Honor Roll all four years. Bartholomew was named to the inaugural EAST-COMM Academic Honor Roll and has earned Dean's List honors seven times. She is very involved on campus as a member of the Student Government and a Valley Ambassador.
She becomes the fourth LVC women's cross country runner to be named a MAC Senior Scholar-Athlete, following Kelsey Patrick in 2015, Keri Jones in 2020, and Lauren Wick in 2021. Overall, LVC has 43 MAC Senior Scholar-Athletes with at least one honoree every year since the 2008-09 academic year.
