Women’s Cross Country Finishes Second at Dutchmen Invitational

9/5/2026 4:37:00 PM

LEBANON, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College women's cross country team had a strong result in the first meet of the year as the Dutchmen finished second out of 14th scoring teams and were the top Division III team at Saturday's home Dutchmen Invitational at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon.

"We got a lot of rain this past week," Head Coach James O'Brien '07, M'16 had to say. "As late as Thursday, three parts of our course were completely underwater.  Our course held up well but was still on the slower side by the time the collegiate races were run due to the large high school fields earlier in the morning. Working through the muddy spots was a key part of everyone's experience today. I am very pleased with this result for our ladies. This group has a lot of potential, and we will be even better as we gain experience throughout the year and add pieces as they become available.  Most importantly, they seem up for the challenge of putting in the work that is ahead.  Our 1-4 was a relatively tight pack, and closing that spread will be key for us as we move into the later part of the season."

Caroline Borleis led the Dutchmen with a career-best time of 20:17 on the 5,000-meter course to finish 18th overall out of 138 runners. Jocelyn Saultz was 20th in her first collegiate race with a time of 20:22. Charlee Kurtz crossed the line in 24th at 20:40 while Nina Milosevic ran a career-best 20:56 to finish 25th. Christine Wagner rounded out the top five for LVC with a career-best time of 21:31 to finish 34th. Felicia Bro ran 21:46 in her first collegiate race, while Grace Buerke ran a career-best 23:31.

Division II Millersville won the team title, placing five in the top 10 to score 24 points. The Dutchmen scored 91 points to finish second, just in front of McDaniel College in third place at 94 points. Susquehanna University finished fourth with 102 points and Eastern University rounded out the top five with 126 points.
