Bartholomew Finishes Career at National Championships

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Lebanon Valley senior Coyla Bartholomew concluded her outstanding career on Saturday at the Division III Women's Cross Country National Championships at the Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
 
Bartholomew finished 219th out of 294 runners with a time of 23:43.2 over the 6,000-meter course on a warm day. The senior finished strong as she moved up 13 spots over the final two kilometers, including nine spots over the final kilometer of her career. She got off to a strong start with a 3:30.3 split on the first kilometer of the race. Bartholomew navigated the middle part of the course, averaging right around a 4:00 split over the course of the middle 4k before ending with a big push at the end.
 
Middlebury junior Audrey Maclean ran away from the field to win in 20:16.8. It was nearly a minute until the next runner crossed the line as RPI junior Jules Bleskoski finished second in 21:05.1. NYU won the team title with 79 points. Williams was second with 106 points, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps finished third with 133 points, Johns Hopkins was fourth with 140 points, and MIT rounded out the top five teams with 232 points.
