MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Ian Paul had one of the top throws in the nation in the javelin to highlight another great meet for the Lebanon Valley men's outdoor track and field team on Saturday at the Millersville Metrics hosted by Millersville University.
TOP PERFORMANCES AND NEW QUALIFIERS
Paul finished second in the javelin and was the top Division III thrower with a career best throw of 62.32 meters. His mark is ranked fourth in the nation and moves him up to third in the program record books from seventh on the top 10 list.
Michael De Falcis also had a season-best mark of 57.81 meters to finish fifth in the field. His mark keeps him in the top 20 of the nation.
Nick Guerieri qualified for the MAC Championships with a throw of 52.16 meters.
Owen Linder qualified for the MAC Championships in the 100 meters with a time of 11.38 seconds. Linder then finished fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.53 seconds.
Colin Winters was also a MAC qualifier in the 100 meters with a time of 11.41 seconds.
Matt Bruchak qualified for the MAC Championships in the 400 meters with a time of 52.01 seconds.
Vinny Ferrizzi finished fifth in the 1500 meters with a MAC qualifying time of 4:06.43.
Noah Griffin won the 5000 meters with a time of 16:42.03.
Donnie Miller and
Eric Shelton both qualified for the MAC Championships in the 3000 Steeplechase with top five finishes. Miller was second in 9:58.77 while Shelton finished fourth in 10:02.90.
Zach Reed won the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.02 seconds in the final after running 15.39 seconds in the preliminaries.
Daniel Murtha qualified for AARTFCs and finished third with a time of 15.51 seconds in the final after running 15.57 seconds in the prelims.
Kadan Smith qualified for MACs with a time of 16.41 seconds. Reed won his second event of the day with a time of 55.47 seconds in the 400 hurdles. The Dutchmen had excellent relays as the 4x100 meter team of
Donovan Goundie,
Alex Sabo, Linder, and Winters won in 43.87. The 4x400 team of Ferrizzi,
Ryan O'Byrne,
Sam Rothstein, and Lukas walko was third in 3:36.11.
Graison Michajluk was seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.85 meters while
Ayden Stankus was second in the pole vault at 4.35 meters. Stankus also finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of 6.22 meters.
Trey Reynolds was eighth in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.29 meters.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will head to Messiah University next weekend for the Messiah Multi/Invitational. The Multi and some throwing events will take place on Thursday and Friday with the rest of the Invitational to be competed on Saturday in Grantham.
