READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley track and field teams got off to a great start at the 2026 Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday by winning three events to lead the field of 16 teams at Alvernia University.
The men's team scored 60.5 points through seven scored events to lead the field by 16.5 points over Widener University, which is second with 44 points. York College of Pennsylvania sits third with 35.5 points. The women's team scored 31 points through five completed events and leads by two points over King's College with 29 points. Widener University is third with 20 points.
Leo Tirado and
Colin Winters qualified for tomorrow's men's 60-meter final. Tirado won the fourth of five heats and had the second-fastest time of the day at a career-best 6.97 seconds. His time is third in the program record books. Winters finished second in the second heat with a time of 7.07 seconds. He had the seventh-fastest time in the field.
Hayden Milchanowski finished 19th and equaled his career-best time of 7.25 seconds.
Ava Matter and
Gabby Welter qualified for the women's 60-meter final on Saturday. Matter ran a career-best time of 7.97 seconds to win the first of four heats. Her time was the third-fastest in the field and is tied for third in the program record books. Welter finished second in the third heat with a time of 8.09 seconds. She ran the sixth-best time of the afternoon. Caitlyn Hovatch finished 20th with a time of 8.48 seconds.
The men's team scored 26 points in the 5000 meters with four of the top six finishers.
Andrew Namatka had a strong finish to win in a career-best time of 14:47.18. He scored 10 points with the third-best time in program history.
Joe Chukoskie led for most of the race and finished second with a time of 14:49.28 to score eight points.
Wyatt Leitzel finished fourth to score five points with a career-best time of 14:58.82. His time is fourth in the record books.
Lukas Walko was sixth to score three points with a career-best time of 15:05.68. His time is fifth in the record books.
Dylan Miller finished 23rd with a time of 16:23.42. The women had
Charlee Kurtz finished sixth to score three points in the women's race with a time of 18:35.09.
Caroline Borleis finished 16th with a time of 20:03.96, while
Dani Fetterolf was 20th in 20:44.04.
Joshua Leidich and
Lewis Dieffenbach qualified for Saturday's men's 60-meter hurdles final. Leidich ran 8.74 seconds to finish second in the second of three heats. His time was the fifth-fastest in the field. Dieffenbach was third in the first heat as he equaled his career-best time of 8.94 seconds. His time was the eighth and final qualifying time.
Anna Sawicki and
Mikayla Mitchell qualified for Saturday's women's 60-meter hurdles final. Sawicki won the first of three heats in a career-best 9.38 seconds, which was the second-best time of the afternoon. Her time is fourth in the school record books. Mitchell ran a career-best 9.47 seconds to finish third in the third heat. Her time was fifth in the field and is fifth in the program record books.
Sarah Nagy finished 13th with a career-best time of 10.37 seconds.
Both 4x200-meter relay team won their respective races with great performances. The men's squad of
Donovan Goundie, Tirado,
Caleb Auzenne, and
Braden Smith got off to a fast start on the outside lanes and held off a late push from the field to cross the line first in 1:30.72 and score 10 points. That time is third in program history. The women's squad of Matter, Welter, Mitchell, and Sawicki also got out to a fast start on the outside lane and led from nearly start to finish to score 10 points in 1:46.63. That time is sixth in program history.
The women's distance medley relay team of
Kaylee Senglar,
Abbie Reed,
Sierra Kapcsos, and
Abigail Hunt finished second in 12:27.63 to score eight points. Hunt used a great kick to edge Messiah University for second place. Their time is fifth in the program record books. The men's squad of
Chad Keller,
Luke Macchione,
Owen Kreider, and
Donnie Miller finished ninth in 10:45.25.
Tirado finished second in the men's high jump at a career-best height of 1.94 meters (6'4.50"). He scored eight points for the Dutchmen with the fourth-best height in the program record books.
Graison Michajluk was fourth at a career-best 1.91 meters (6'3.25") to score five points. His height is ninth in the school record books.
Evan Donough was 17th with a height of 1.68 meters (5'6.25").
Grant Smith scored 2.5 points in the men's pole vault as he finished tied for sixth with a height of 3.94 meters (12'11").
Dylan Duncan did not record a height, missing all three attempts at 3.64 meters.
Alex Brown finished fifth in the long jump with a big career-best mark of 6.74 meters (22'1.25") on his first jump. His mark is fifth in the program record books. The women's squad scored 10 points in the long jump, placing four in the top eight.
Mileyska Calderon led the group in fifth place to score four points with a jump of 5.29 meters (17'4.25") on her fourth attempt.
Tola Oyinkolade finished sixth to score three points with a mark of 5.29 meters (17'4.25") on her sixth and final jump.
Chloe Grady was seventh with a career-best mark of 5.25 meters (17'2.75") on her sixth attempt to score two points. Her jump is seventh in the school record books.
Hailey Myers scored one point in eighth place with a jump of 5.17 meters (16'11.5") on her fifth attempt.
Aonghas Evanick scored five points in the weight throw as he finished fourth with a throw of 16.38 meters (53'9") on his first toss.
Jordan Klinger finished 11th with a mark of 14.35 meters (47'1") on his third attempt.
Michajluk is second in the heptathlon with 2631 points through four events. He ran a time of 7.49 seconds in the 60 meters to score 716 points. Michajluk then jumped 6.04 meters (19'9.75") in the long jump to score 595 points. He had a throw of 12.14 meters (39'10") in the shot put to score 615 points and then finished with a height of 1.89 meters (6'2.25") in the high jump to score 705 points.
Ethan Rush is 11th with 2107 points. He started his day with a career-best time of 7.72 seconds in the 60 meters to score 643 points. Rush then had a career-best long jump mark of 5.55 meters (18'2.50") to score 492 points. He threw the shot put a career-best 9.71 meters (31'10.25") to score 468 points and had a career-best height of 1.65 meters (5'5") in the high jump to score 504 points.
Marlon Perez is 12th with 2068 points. He ran a career-best 7.82 seconds in the 60 meters to score 613 points to begin the day. Perez then had a career-best mark of 5.23 meters (17'2") in the long jump to score 427 points. He threw the shot put 11.04 meters (36'2.75") to score 548 points and finished the day with a career-best height of 1.62 meters (5'3.75") in the high jump to score 480 points.
The Championships will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday as the Dutchmen look to win more titles and battle for the team championships on the final day.
