NEW ORLEANS, La. – Lebanon Valley thrower
Michael De Falcis was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year for the outdoor track & field team this week in a release by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
De Falcis finished third in the javelin throw at the National Championships with a career-best throw of 70.16m (230'2"). His mark moved him up to No. 11 in NCAA Division III history and just missed qualifying for the USATF National Championships. The graduate student competed at eight meets this spring and finished in the top five in all eight. He won three events, including throwing the second-best mark of his career at 66.15 meters (217'0") to win his third career Middle Atlantic Conference title. His throw was the sixth-best toss in Division III during the regular season.
He becomes LVC's first Regional Athlete of the Year since 2022, when Owen Buhr was selected as the Mid-Atlantic Track Athlete of the Year.
