ANNVILLE, Pa. – The weather was a little chilly, but the Lebanon Valley outdoor track and field team didn't let that affect its performance as the Dutchmen broke two facility records and had a great day at the Blue & White Open on Saturday at Arnold Field in Annville.
The LVC men's 4x100 meter relay team broke the first facility record of the day as the team of
Donovan Goundie,
Leo Tirado,
Caleb Auzenne, and
Colin Winters won in an AARTFC Championship qualifying time of 42.42 seconds. That time is fourth in program history and broke the previous facility record of 42.44 seconds that Widener University ran in 2013. The second facility record to go down was in the men's 3000 meters as
Lukas Walko ran a career-best time of 8:46.34. Walko's time is also a program record, breaking the previous time of 8:49.40 that Jordan Berger ran in 2023. He broke the facility record of 9:00.60 that Michael Harnish ran in 2014.
Track Highlights
Ava Matter won the women's 100 meters in 12.48 seconds. It is the best wind-legal time of her career after running a wind-aided career best time of 12.45 seconds last week.
Colin Winters was third in the men's 100 with a time of 10.95 seconds.
Caleb Auzenne was fifth in 11.05 seconds.
Gabby Welter finished fourth in the women's 200 meters with a career-best and MAC Championships qualifying time of 27.22 seconds.
Avrey Grimm was fourth in the men's 200 with a time of 23.43 seconds.
Lila Shore was fourth in the women's 400 meters, crossing the line in 1:05.66.
Autumn Garges and
Abigail Hunt qualified for the MAC Championships in the 800 meters. Garges broke away from the pack to win in 2:21.29 while Hunt was third in 2:25.80.
Kaylee Senglar had a great final two laps to win the women's 1500 meters in a MAC qualifying 4:58.92.
Elijah McKell finished fifth in the men's 1500 with a time of 4:10.80.
The Dutchmen had four MAC qualifiers in the 400-meter hurdles.
Abbie Reed finished second in the women's race with a time of 1:07.15.
Mikayla Mitchell was fifth in 1:12.94 while
Sarah Nagy was right behind her in 1:15.24.
Lewis Dieffenbach qualified in the men's 400 hurdles with a time of 59.93 seconds to finish fourth. The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Welter, Matter,
Caitlyn Kovatch, and
Mileyska Calderon won in an AARTFC qualifying time of 49.78. That time is tied for the 10th-best in program history. The men's 4x400 relay team of
Hayden Milchanowski,
Cassius Freeman,
Braden Smith, and
Luke Macchione finished second in 3:35.03.
On Friday evening, seven distance runners qualified for the MAC Championships in the 10,000 meters at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational.
Andrew Namatka finished fifth in the men's race with a career-best time of 31:20.63. His time also qualified him for the AARTFC Championships and is sixth in program history.
Dylan Miller qualified with a time of 33:47.50 in his first career 10k on the track.
Coyla Bartholomew led five women to qualify for MACs with a time of 37:40.79 to finish third.
Charlee Kurtz ran a career-best time of 38:30.86 to finish fifth. Her time is fourth in program history.
Dani Fetterolf ran a career-best time of 40:15.07, which is seventh in the program record books. Bartholomew, Kurtz, and Fetterolf also qualified for the AARTFC Championships with their times.
Caroline Borleis ran a career-best time of 40:49.78 while
Christine Wagner finished in 41:55.61. Borleis is now 10th in the program record books with her time.
Field Highlights
Tirado finished second in the men's high jump with a height of 1.87 meters (6'1.5").
Graison Michajluk was third, also jumping 1.87 meters (6'1.5"), while
Evan Donough was fifth at 1.72 meters (5'7.75"). Both Tirado and Michajluk qualified for the MAC Championships in the event.
Grant Smith and
Dylan Duncan qualified for the conference championships in the pole vault. Smith cleared 4.03 meters (13'2.5") while Duncan cleared 3.88 meters (12'8.75").
Calderon won the long jump with a career-best mark of 5.37 meters (17'7.5") on her fifth jump. She is now third in the program record books, up from sixth.
Tola Oyinkolade was second at a career-best 5.24 meters (17'2.25") on her sixth attempt. She moved up to seventh in the record books from a tie for eighth.
Chloe Grady finished third with a jump of 5.19 meters (17'0.5") on her fifth try.
Anna Sawicki had a mark of 5.00 meters (16'5") on her sixth jump to finish fifth and qualify for the MAC Championships in the event. Oyinkolade won the triple jump with a career-best and MAC qualifying mark of 10.42 meters (34'2.25") on her second attempt. Her mark is 10th in the program record books. Grady was third at 10.24 meters (33'7.25") on her third jump.
Bo Wheeler was a new MAC qualifier in the men's shot put with a throw of 12.42 meters (40'9") on his fourth attempt.
Aonghas Evanick won the men's discus with a toss of 44.56 meters (146'2") on his second attempt.
Jordan Klinger qualified for the MAC Championships in the hammer throw with a mark of 39.70 meters (130'3") on his second attempt.
Michael De Falcis won the men's javelin with a season-best heave of 60.08 meters (197'1") on his first throw.
Joie Connolly finished third in the women's javelin with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 35.72 meters (117'2") on her fifth throw.

The Dutchmen will be back in action on Wednesday, as they make the short trip to York to compete in the York Twilight Meet on the campus of York University of Pennsylvania.
