KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Soccer team had junior
Nathan Prex and senior
Aaron Weitzel named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region IV Team with the release of the postseason awards this week by the coaches' organization.
Prex was selected to the First Team as a forward for the second consecutive season after a fantastic year where he recorded 14 points on five goals and four assists in 15 games. The junior was consistently double-teamed and faced each opponent's top defender all year. He dished out the game-winning assist in a huge season-opening 1-0 victory over Washington College, which was ranked fourth in the nation to begin the season. Prex scored both goals in a 2-0 victory at FDU-Florham and had an assist on the second goal in a 2-2 tie with Franklin & Marshall College.
Weitzel was selected to the Third Team as a forward for the second consecutive season after leading the Dutchmen with 15 points on seven goals and one assist. The senior scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in a 5-0 victory over Alfred and in a 6-1 victory over Alvernia. Weitzel also scored in the 2-2 tie against Franklin & Marshall and LVC's lone goal in the MAC Freedom Semifinal defeat at Stevens. This is the third time in Weitzel's career that he was an All-Region selection.
