Wescott and Enyeama Net First Career Goals in Men’s Soccer’s Win at King’s

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Michael Enyeama and Tyler Wescott both scored their first career goal for the Lebanon Valley College men's soccer team, leading the program to a 2-1 victory over King's College on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at McCarthy Stadium. Wescott tallied the game-winner, putting LVC ahead late in the second half.

The Monarchs (4-6-4, 1-1-2 MAC Freedom) took the first shot 1:10 into the first half, which went to the left of the net. The programs proceeded to battle defensively for over 12 minutes, as neither squad logged another shot until the Dutchmen (9-2-2, 2-0-1 MAC Freedom) blocked an attempt by King's at the 13:26 mark. Lebanon Valley then struck first 23:31 into the contest, taking a 1-0 lead. The squad opened the scoring when Enyeama sent a shot into the lower-right corner of the net for a goal.

The Monarchs followed this with a shot on goal at the 25:12 mark, and the Flying Dutchmen answered with a save by goalkeeper Isaac Yerger. LVC's defense also came through with a block 27:34 into the first half. Lebanon Valley kept working to generate more offensive opportunities during the stanza as well, as Logan Hicks put a shot on target that was saved at the 34:59 mark. The Dutchmen went on to take their one-goal advantage into halftime.

Lebanon Valley continued its strong defensive effort when the second half got underway, blocking a shot at the 45:53 mark before Yerger posted a stop at the 48:34 mark. Offensively, Will Burton created a chance for LVC at the 51:00 mark with a shot on goal that was saved. King's then got on the board at the 52:56 mark, tying the contest at 1-1 on a goal by CJ Anderson. The Monarchs also attempted a shot 59:07 into the game, which the Flying Dutchmen blocked.

The Dutchmen kept sending shots toward the net as the second half progressed, as Gavin Rapp put a shot on goal that was saved at the 69:20 mark. King's countered with a try at the 71:53 mark, but Lebanon Valley responded with another important save by Yerger. LVC then generated another offensive opportunity at the 77:35 mark, as Eli Yerger registered a shot on target that was saved.

The Flying Dutchmen found the net again 77:35 into the contest, claiming a 2-1 lead. Shortly after a corner kick, Wescott sent a shot into the lower-right corner of the net for a clutch goal.
