NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College Men's Basketball team garnered recognition from the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) on Monday, as it was announced in a release by the conference office that senior forward Evin Timochenko was selected as the MAC Freedom Player of the Week for his efforts in the program's game at Gwynedd Mercy University on Dec. 14.
Timochenko was nearly perfect from the floor while recording his fifth double-double of the year with 22 points and 17 rebounds in a hard-fought 83-69 defeat at undefeated Gwynedd Mercy in LVC's only game of the week. The senior was 11-13 from the floor for his 22 points, his second-most on the season. The forward grabbed 13 defensive rebounds and four offensive rebounds while blocking two shots. Timochenko had over 20 points and over 15 rebounds in a game for the third time this year.
This marks Timochenko's third conference weekly honor of the season, which is also the forward's third of his career. The senior was also named the MAC Freedom Player of the Week on Nov. 11 and Dec. 2. Additionally, Timochenko has earned each of Lebanon Valley's three weekly awards this year.
Timochenko and the Dutchmen will be back in action at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, when the team will take on Wilson College at Gannett Memorial Field House in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
