NEWTOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley men's basketball standout
Kyle Tang was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete in a release by the conference office on Friday after a great career for the Dutchmen.
Tang, a Biology major, earned All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention honors this winter and has led the conference in steals two out of his four years. The team captain has played in 98 games during his four years, with 86 starts as the team's point guard. He scored 720 points, pulled down 344 rebounds, dished out 377 assists, and had 175 steals in his career. Tang led the MAC Freedom in assists and was third in assist/turnover ratio as a junior.
Academically, Tang is an excellent student, having earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honors all three years he was eligible for the award. The senior was named to the NABC Honors Court and earned a spot on the EAST-COMM Academic Honor Roll last year. He has been named to the Dean's List six times and has been named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll multiple times in his career.
Tang becomes the fifth Dutchmen Men's Basketball student-athlete to earn the conference's most prestigious award. He becomes the first honoree for the men's basketball program since Andy Orr in 2018 and LVC's third recipient this year. Overall, LVC has 44 MAC Senior Scholar-Athletes with at least one honoree every year since the 2008-09 academic year.
