ANNVILLE, Pa. – Former Lebanon Valley College Men's Track & Field standout Alex Sabo '23, M'24, was hired as the College's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for its 26 varsity teams, as announced by Pat Ratke, Director of Athletics.

"It was clear during the interview that Alex has a deep passion and love for LVC and that he has a plan to create a strategic vision for our Strength and Conditioning Program," Ratke said. "I know that Alex will bring a level of consistency as we work to create an overall peak performance program to ensure the holistic well-being of our student-athletes. I am excited for Alex to join the team and get started this month."

Sabo returns to Lebanon Valley to join its staff after serving as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Robert Morris University, where he primarily worked with the women's volleyball, football, and men's lacrosse teams. Before this position, he worked with Dutchmen student-athletes as a Graduate Assistant during the 2023-24 academic year while pursuing his master's in Sports Performance from LVC. In this role, he served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the College's Football, Field Hockey, Men's Soccer, Men's Lacrosse, and Women's Ice Hockey teams.

Now, as Lebanon Valley's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Sabo will oversee the training of all varsity programs and work with coaches to coordinate strength and conditioning programs for each team. He will also work closely with athletic trainers to assist with prehabilitation and rehabilitation.

"I am honored to return to my alma mater, where I spent five years growing as an individual and coach," Sabo said. "Coming back to run the Strength and Conditioning Program is a dream come true. I look forward to growing the program and getting the chance to build relationships with all student-athletes."

Along with the experience Sabo gained at Robert Morris and LVC, he also previously interned with the Strength & Conditioning coaches at Lancaster Bible College and Bucknell University. Additionally, he interned at Duquesne University and worked with the football and men's basketball teams.

As a student-athlete at Lebanon Valley, Sabo was a pivotal performer for the Men's Track & Field team. He played key roles in LVC's Men's Indoor Track & Field and Men's Outdoor Track & Field Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships in 2024. Sabo also received All-MAC Second Team honors at the 2023 MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships for anchoring the 4x100 relay team that finished second. Additionally, as a sophomore, he earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team honors in the decathlon.

Sabo graduated from LVC with his bachelor's in Exercise Science in 2023. He then went on to earn his master's in Sports Performance from the College in May of 2024.
