LVC's 25 Teams Take Part In Failure Recovery Sessions

ANNVILLE, Pa. – On Wednesday, Jan. 25, Thursday, Jan. 26, and Friday, Jan. 27, Lebanon Valley student-athletes attended the school's first-ever mental health sessions designed specifically for players facing athletic-related situations as part of their overall college experience.

Over the course of three days, nearly every LVC student-athlete attended one of the sessions led by Fu Salam of HUMANeX Ventures. The initial sessions focused on the area of failure recovery and were open to coaches from each of LVC's 25 athletic programs.

Student-athletes were presented with information regarding the best ways to work through failure and disappointment en route to achieving failure recovery.  Salam has worked with numerous sports teams nationwide, including similar programs from across all three NCAA divisions. Salam's involvement with Lebanon Valley comes after establishing a relationship with head softball coach Joey Lye during her time at Stevenson University.

The mental health sessions are the latest aspect of LVC Athletics' ongoing growth in the area of human performance. The all-encompassing human performance strategy includes the school's strength & conditioning department, athletic training department, physical therapy department, and now mental health.

HUMANeX Ventures is an organization with a clear mission for discovering and developing the talents of individuals, educating and equipping leaders and managers to coach, engage and develop individuals to their potential, and building critical processes and practices to multiply significant and sustainable impact and levels of excellence.
