Women’s Swimming Defeats Juniata at Stevenson Tri-Match

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Lebanon Valley women's swimming team earned their first win of the year on Saturday as they took down Juniata College. The Dutchmen fell to host Stevenson University in the tri-meet at McDonough School.
 
LVC earned a 96-78 victory over the Eagles while Stevenson topped the Dutchmen 116-75.
 
Meet Highlights
  • Rachel King finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 2:16.51.
  • Jordyn Grossman won an event for the second straight day as she touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.95 seconds. Sierra Young was right behind her in 26.44 seconds.
  • Young also won an event for the second consecutive meet taking home gold in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.56.
  • Grossman came back and won the 100-yard freestyle in a season-best 58.72 seconds. She was the only swimmer to break a minute and won by almost three full seconds.
  • Nory Mitchell finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:20.03. Karly Kile was third in 1:21.28.
  • The Dutchmen relay team of Hollyn Helsel, Cara Snook, Young, and Grossman won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:52.01. 
Up Next
The Dutchmen will be back in action next Friday as they host King's College for a dual meet inside the Arnold Sports Center. The meet is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
