ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley men's tennis senior Brendan Byler was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and fourth time this year in a release by the Middle Atlantic Conference office on Monday.
 
Byler was named the MVP of the MAC Commonwealth Championship after going 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles for the week. He began the week with an 8-1 second doubles win and a 6-2, 6-3 win at number 6-2 singles in a 5-0 semifinal victory over York. His court was the first to finish in singles and doubles. In the final against Stevenson, he gave the Dutchmen a 3-2 lead in singles after the Mustangs won two of the three doubles matches. He earned a dominating 6-3, 6-0 win as the second court to finish to give LVC the lead. The senior led the Dutchmen to their second consecutive conference title.
 
Byler won his fifth career Player of the Week award and the Dutchmen have now earned the honor 11 times this year by six different student-athletes.
 
The Dutchmen will face Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
