ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Jordyn Grossman won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.32 seconds to highlight a strong day for the Lebanon Valley swimming teams. The women's team competed in a double dual against host Cedar Crest College and Bryn Mawr College while the men's team swam time trials.
Grossman won by nearly a full second as the Dutchmen's lone winner of the afternoon. Bryn Mawr won both duals while Cedar Crest defeated LVC to go 1-1 on the afternoon.
Inside the Results
- Karly Kile swam a season-best time of 2:25.23 in the 200-yard freestyle to finish fourth.
- Dain Vallie qualified for the MAC Championships in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.08. He was a couple seconds from the qualification time in the 200-yard backstroke hitting the wall in 2:30.20.
- Natalie Bourne was second in the 100-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 1:15.36.
- Noryan Mitchell came close to qualifying for the MAC Championships in the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:21.36. Rachel King was right behind her with a time of 1:21.85.
- Breydon Maggio swam a MAC-qualifying time of 1:09.51 in the 100-yard breaststroke as LVC's top time this year in the event. He also qualified for the MAC Championships in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:37.35.
- Hollyn Helsel finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 28.80 seconds.
- Tyler Singer just missed the MAC qualifying time in the 50-freestyle with a season-best time of 24.65 seconds to beat five teammates.
- Grossman qualified for the MAC Championships in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:33.90 to finish third.
- King was a couple seconds off the 200-yard breaststroke MAC qualifying time as she finished third in 2:55.53.
- Justin Kopp qualified for MACs in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.55.
- The team of Kile, Bourne, Helsel, and Grossman finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:54.48.
Up Next
The Dutchmen are scheduled to swim time trials at the Arnold Sports Center next Friday. Their next meet against another opponent is on Saturday November 11 when they make the trip to Madison, N.J. to take on FDU-Florham at 6 p.m.
