WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Jordyn Grossman and
Rachel King both qualified for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday in the season opener for the Flying Dutchmen swimming team at Lycoming College in Williamsport. The Warriors won the meet 115-68.
LVC won both relays while Grossman swam a qualifying time in the 50-yard freestyle and King swam her qualifying time in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Inside the Box
- The meet started with Grossman, King, Natalie Bourne, and Hollyn Helsel swimming a time of 2:06.64 in the 200-yard medley relay.
- Grossman finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.36 seconds to qualify for the conference meet. Cara Snook was third with a time of 30.33 seconds.
- King finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in her third race of the day with a MAC-qualifying time of 1:19.68. She also swam the 1000-yard freestyle earlier in the meet finishing third in 13:56.03.
- Nory Mitchell finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:23.91.
- Helsel was third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:04.39 while Maddie Hoerner was third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:16.46.
- Grossman, Bourne, Karly Kile, and Helsel won the meet-ending 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:53.43.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will be back on the road next Saturday with a trip to Allentown for a tri-meet against host Cedar Crest College and Bryn Mawr College. The meet will start at 1 p.m. at the Rodale Aquatic Center.
