Men’s Tennis Set To Compete For MAC Commonwealth Title

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team is looking to qualify for the NCAA Tournament this week as they compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Championships.
 
The Dutchmen went 7-0 during conference play during the regular season earning the top seed and hosting privileges. They will take on fourth-seeded Alvernia University at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Shankroff Tennis Center in the semifinals. Second-seeded Stevenson University and third-seeded Messiah University will play in the other semifinal matchup down in Maryland. The winners will play for the title on Saturday. LVC would host the Championship match as the top seed.
 
LVC had a .905 winning percentage in both singles and doubles during conference play dropping just two doubles matches and four singles matches. Justin Schuetz and Adam Warren were 12-6 and 6-0 in conference this year at number one doubles. Brendan Byler and William Harriger has a 4-3 overall record and 3-2 mark in conference at number two doubles. Jeffrey Bauer and Brady McLucas posted a 7-1 mark and 5-0 conference record at number three doubles.
 
In singles, Schuetz is 11-8 at number one and posted a 6-1 mark in conference play. Bauer has gone 14-9 at number two including a 6-1 record in conference matches. Warren has gone 6-0 in conference matches at number three and has a 13-6 overall singles record. Byler is 11-10 this year and has a 5-1 conference mark at number four singles. McLucas has dominated with a 19-3 record and 7-0 mark in conference play at the fifth flight. Michael Schuetz is 13-8 this year and 4-1 in the number six flight in conference play.
