TOWSON, Md. – The Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team wrapped up the fall schedule on Saturday with a strong day at the Goucher Invitational highlighted by
Meredith Haas and
Madison Poladian winning the Doubles B bracket.
Haas and Poladian won all three of their matches in straight sets. They began the day with a 4-3 (11), 4-2 win over Gettysburg. In the semifinal they were 6-2, 6-2 winners over a team from Goucher and then they won the final 6-3, 6-3 over Sweet Briar.
Jenna Miner and
Kendall Halsey were also in the bracket going 1-2 on the day. They won their first match 4-0, 4-1 over a team from Ramapo. They then dropped a hard-fought 6-1, 6-2 decision to the Sweet Briar duo in the semifinals. They fell to Goucher 6-3, 6-1 in their third match of the day.
Eliana Shenk and
Sarah Kramer played in the doubles A bracket and went 1-2. They lost their first match in three sets 1-4, 4-1, 4-1 to Sweet Briar before winning their second match over Immaculata. The pair dropped their third match of the day to Gettysburg's top doubles team at the invitational.
Nicole Honrade went 1-2 in the Singles A bracket. She began with a 4-0, 4-0 victory over Stockton's top singles entry. She then was defeated by Allison Wandling of Sweet Briar 6-3, 6-0 before falling 6-2, 6-0 to Ruth De Souza who also plays for Sweet Briar.
Livia Jackson went 1-2 in the Singles B bracket falling 4-2, 4-1 in her first match to Niki Simhambhatla of Sweet Brair. She came back to defeat Eliza Abady of Goucher 6-1, 6-2. In her final match of the day, she battled Immaculata's Pamela Kontaras for three sets dropping a hard-fought 1-6, 6-4, 10-8 decision.
Brianna Trace played in the Singles C bracket while
Abbie Hoffer competed in the Singles D bracket.
