DOUBLES BRACKET
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Women's Tennis team competed at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Individual Championship Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
In singles play,
Jacquelyn McBride advanced to the No. 1 semifinals on Sunday after defeating Katie Cautero from Hood in the first round 6-0, 6-1, followed by a 6-1, 6-1 defeat over Hannah Seebold from Lycoming. McBride's run would come to an end in the semis as she fell 6-2, 6-1 to eventual champion Brianna Pizzano of Misericordia. In No. 2 singles,
Meredith Haas reached the quarterfinals after a 6-4, 6-2 opening round win before falling in three sets to Zoe Klein of Wilkes.
Madison Poladian also reached the quarters in No. 3 singles. She won in straight sets in the first round but would fall to top-seeded Alexis Fuda of Stevens.
In doubles play, the duo of
Madison Poladian and
Eliana Shenk reached the championship match at No. 2 doubles and earned silver. They won 8-2 in the opening round against Arcadia, topped Messiah 8-6 in the quarterfinals, and then edged out York 8-5 to reach the finals. They would fall in a hard-fought match 8-7 (7-5) in the championship to Heaberlin/Marchisio of Stevens. Another deep run in doubles came at the No. 3 spot as the duo of
Abbey DeLisio and
Kendall Halsey reached the semifinals. They received a bye in the first round and then was 8-2 over FDU-Florham. Amerise/O'Neil from Wilkes would eventually defeat LVC 8-6 in the semifinals.
The Dutchmen are back in action this Tuesday when they host DeSales University at Shankroff Tennis Center at 3:30 p.m.
