ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley Softball team is set to begin the 2021 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Championship Tournament on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the seventh-seeded Dutchmen travel to take on the second-seeded Stevenson University Mustangs in the quarterfinals. The two teams will play a best-of-three series with the first two games taking place at Stevenson and a winner-take-all game three on Sunday at LVC Softball Park if
necessary.
How They Got Here
The Dutchmen finished the regular season with a 14-14 regular season and 7-11 conference record. Stevenson ended the year with a 18-8 record and 14-6 in the conference.
History vs. Stevenson
LVC holds the all-time series edge with an 11-8 record against the Mustangs. Stevenson has had the better of the Dutchmen recently however, winning the last five games. The two teams first met back on March 28, 2013.

(FULL RECAP Games 3/4) In their regular season series, Stevenson swept the Dutchmen winning all four matchups. The first two games were in Owings Mills, Md. and LVC fell in a pair of one-run contests including a 1-0 defeat in 10 innings. The following day, Stevenson topped the Dutchmen 5-2 and 13-5.
LVC Notables
As a team, LVC brings a high-scoring offense into this weekend's matchup totaling 171 runs and hitting .322 as a team, both best in the conference. On offense,
Sarah Musselman currently ranks ninth in the conference with a .400 batting average.
Lindsey McCurdy and
Tori Hunyara are in the top-10 of the conference in slugging percentage with .610 and .595 respectively. Hunyara along with
Jen Kaufman are tied for third in the league with 23 runs scored. Hunyara also leads the league with six triples, which also is tied for the program record in a single season.
In the circle, Musselman again is among the league leaders with a 2.58 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 70.2 innings pitched.
Jordan Walter has been a steady number two in the circle finishing the regular season with a 3.27 ERA in 60 innings pitched.
Stevenson Notables
Stevenson comes into today with strong pitching as the team boasts a 2.32 ERA, good for second in the league. Maddie Bosley leads the team with a .395 average followed by Morghan Fulton (.386) and Kayla Briles (.385). Fulton has been the power hitting for the Mustangs as she leads the conference with 30 RBI and is tied for first with four home runs. Briles currently sits third in hits with 35 and second in runs at 24.
Marissa Heuer and Morghan Fulton are the 1-2 punch in the circle with 2.38 and 2.39 ERA respectively. Fulton has tossed 85 innings, second-most in the league, while allowing just a .236 opponent batting average.
