TOWSON, Md. – Lebanon Valley's Women's Tennis team took part in day one of Goucher College's Tournament on Saturday.
In doubles action,
Madison Poladian and
Eliana Shenk were victorious and took home the doubles B championship. In round one, Poladian and Shenk took down Immaculata's Jenna Muttik and Audrey Keen 6-2, 6-2 before defeating Rutgers Camden's Morgan Demsey and LeAnne Hall 6-2, 7-5. Then, in the championship match, the twosome downed Gettysburg's Kate Alianiello and Shoshi Dondes 6-3, 6-3 to claim victory.
In other doubles play,
Abbey DeLisio and
Kendall Halsey advanced to tomorrow's championship match in doubles C action. DeLisio and Halsey defeated Frostburg St.'s Erika Femne and Cherise Jenkins 6-0, 6-4 to advance to tomorrow's championship match against Gettysburg's Catherine Haley and Tierney Cantwell.
Jacquelyn McBride downed Stockton's Sarb Devi 6-3, 6-0 in the first round of the singles A tournament and then edged Frostburg St.'s Lorena Pintar 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 in round two to advance to tomorrow's championship vs. Gettysburg's Andrea Brazyte.
Sarah Kramer won her opening-round match in singles C action against Immaculata's Jessica Dougherty 7-5, 6-4, but then fell to Rutgers-Camden's Tiffany Trivers 6-2, 6-1 in round two.
The second and final day of Goucher's Tournament is set for tomorrow.
