WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team competed at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Individual Championship Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
SINGLES BRACKET
DOUBLES BRACKET
In No.2 singles action,
Melanie Haas advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Megan Waskiwicz of Stevenson 6-0, 6-3, but would fall to DeSales' Kirsten Kosa 6-3, 6-0. In No. 4 singles,
Emily Wilczek advanced to the semifinals but fell to eventual champion in two hard-fought sets 7-6 (4), 6-4.
Meridyth Sanders also appeared in the semis in No. 5 singles, but she too fell to the eventual MAC champion 6-2, 6-0. In No. 6 singles,
Zoe Birch fell in the quarterfinal match 6-3, 6-3, while in No. 7 singles,
Samantha Nye came up short in the quarters 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles play, Haas/Wilczek advanced to the quarterfinals at No. 1 doubles but fell 8-1 to Lycoming. In No. 2 doubles,
Nicole Honrade and
Madison Poladian advanced to the semifinals after a pair of 8-1 victories but dropped the semifinal match 8-4 to Wilkes. Finally, at No. 4 doubles, Nye and
Leah Wingert were conference runner-ups after falling 8-1 to Stevens in the championship match.
The Flying Dutchmen are back in action Friday for their final action of their fall slate when they travel to take on Goucher College. Game time in Baltimore, Md. is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
