ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team fought hard to edge out King's (Pa.) 5-4 at the Shankroff Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon, March 25.
 
After the start time was pushed back a couple of hours due to two mid-day snow showers, the Flying Dutchmen (4-5) opened the match with a pair of doubles victories. Jordan Heavel teamed with Blake Martin to top the Monarchs' Austin Mackey and Cameron Tuck 8-3 in the No. 2 outing, while Ben Hinkley and Luke Senft held off Terry Briggs and Ryan Kopishke to win 8-6 in the third matchup.
 
Senft and Hinkley added solo victories later in the day, with Senft going over Tuck 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 5 competition and Hinkley winning 6-3, 6-3 over Jason Homschek in the sixth outing. Heavel's three setter against Briggs in the No. 3 contest proved the difference, with the senior earning a 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 victory to seal the overall win for LVC.
 
The Dutchmen are next in action on Wednesday afternoon, March 28 when they host Elizabethtown at Shankroff Tennis Center.
