COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team was edged by Ursinus 5-4 in the squad's first match since returning from spring break on Saturday afternoon, March 17.
 
Doubles play saw the Flying Dutchmen (3-5) pick up one victory thanks to an 8-6 decision in favor of Elise Hanks-Witaszek and Emily Wilczek over the Bears' Summer Burkholder and Maddie Sorebo.
 
Sammy Bost was LVC's top singles player to earn a solo victory, as she defeated Ariel Danziger 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 matchup. Elizabeth Drda topped Madisen Harvey 6-4, 6-3 in the battle of the No. 4 players, while Megan Williams took care of Summer Burkholder 6-4, 6-1 in the fifth contest.
 
The final singles outing came down to the wire, with Meridyth Sanders turning in a tough performance before falling to Ursinus' Maddie Sorebo 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (10-7) in the sixth matchup.
 
The Dutchmen return home for the first time this spring when they host Eastern at the Shankroff Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon, March 21.
