ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team hosted Scranton for the team's 2017-18 home opener at Shankroff Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26. The Flying Dutchmen (0-2) fell to the undefeated Royals (5-0) 9-0.
In doubles play, the No. 3 pairing of
Sammy Bost and
Elizabeth Drda gave Scranton's Katherine Loughlin and Tatiana Klacko the most hard-fought match of the bunch before falling 8-5.
Drda and
Meridyth Sanders each forced a seventh point in their solo matches, with Drda falling to the Royals' Emily Kelly 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 4 singles outing, while Sanders dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision to Scranton's Sakira Fussner in the sixth matchup.
The Dutchmen are next in action this weekend when they take part in Goucher's annual tournament beginning Saturday morning, Sept. 30.
