Women's Tennis Finishes Undefeated In Conference Play

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team capped one of its best regular seasons in recent memory with an 8-1 victory over Stevenson at the Shankroff Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon that sealed an undefeated record in MAC Commonwealth play.

The Flying Dutchmen (13-4, 7-0 MAC Commonwealth) came away with a 2-1 lead following doubles play, with Alyssa Potosnak and Megan Williams earning an 8-2 victory over Stevenson's Kirstyn Davidson and Christina Endy in the No. 2 outing, and the third team of Melanie Haas and Elise Hanks-Witaszek defeating Nina Bretz and Collen Martin 8-3.

LVC made it a clean sweep in singles action, with the team's top player Marla Scacchitti battling back to erase an early deficit and defeat Jenna Skove 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Rebecca Pierpont wasted little time in handling Davidson 6-0, 6-2 in the second outing, and Haas was efficient in going over Kelsi Mentzer 6-2, 6-1 in the battle of No. 3 players.

Postosnak had to work for her 6-4, 6-4 victory over Endy in the fourth matchup, while reigning MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week Elizabeth Drda breezed by Bretz 6-0, 6-0. Williams capped the day's proceedings with a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win over Colleen Martin in the No. 6 outing.
