HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2016-17 schedule against Catholic in the first match of the squad's spring break trip in Hilton Head, S.C. on Sunday afternoon.
The Flying Dutchmen (3-1) suffered their first dual-match defeat of the season when they fell to the Cardinals (4-3) by an 8-1 decision.
LVC suffered a pair of losses in doubles play but the twosome of
Elizabeth Drda and
Elise Hanks-Witaszek picked up the team's sole victory of the day when they defeated Catholic's No. 3 doubles duo of Faith Tamuleviz and Liz Ast by a score of 8-4.
In singles action, Lebanon Valley players fell to their Cardinal counterparts, each in two sets. The Dutchmen will look to bounce back when they take on Baldwin Wallace in the second of their spring break matches on Tuesday afternoon, March 7.
